Lum’s rant page, which is possibly the greatest UO commentary page of all time, retroactively updated the page on Lum’s visit to the UO player luncheon with Richard Garriott, much in the same way that I retroactively update my rants to remove statements that will get me in legal trouble after I’ve had a minute to think about it. The Britfest ’99 page is totally brilliant, but until today I didn’t notice the oddity of the GM table pictures. No wonder GM’s are so pissy and unresponsive and arbitrary about banning people. Their parents don’t understand them. Neither do you. You will never understand the depths of their angst. Or something.

“Pass the Hi-C d00d.”
I think that’s Lady MOI waaay in the back there, carefully distancing herself from the GM table. Looking at this picture, I remember big family dinners at my grandmother’s house I was forced to go to on holidays and such, where all of the adults would sit at the proper table and act like idiots talking about utter bullshit, while the kids were relegated to a folding card table off to the side, along with whatever mother happened to be the most haggard-looking from being forced to do things like this all the time. You think the GM’s are throwing dinner rolls at each other and sticking ice down the girl’s shirt back while talking about lamers they PK’d last week, and the people that PK’d them and are now mysteriously banned? I think so. Next time I wind up talking to a GM in game, I’ll be strongly tempted to start things off with, “Boy, don’t even start. I got stains in my shorts older than you.”

“Wanna see my castle?”

Garriott looks horrified at his adolescent GM staff… or disturbingly interested…

Also on Lum’s, a commentary about the fact that GM’s can ban you for no reason at all now, except that someone complains about your playing style. I am totally in favor of this seemingly unfair practice, and I want everyone to log in, on any shard, and say “I can’t stand that friggin’ Musashi. Please ban him.” Once this is done, I can get some screenshots of the inside of a UO jail, insult a GM for good measure (hopefully that friggin’ Datura), then play more Starcraft and Quake, both superior role-playing environments.Actually, I’ve been trying to work towards this goal for a while, but I have gotten almost no hate mail. I figured I would get a fair amount from my lame-o UO illustrated chronicles, but people asked for more. So I haven’t been updating, and no complaints. Then I pick on very specific, big, widely respected (I guess) people and organizations in the rants page. Nothing. Soon I will have to resort to PKing a lot on Hokuto and posting chronicles which are nothing but kill shots, like Ronald McDonald‘s “Race to 1000 Murders”. No doubt this won’t work either; evil sites get way more hits than me as it is.I will press onward into more and more offensive areas. If nothing works, watch this space for “Mu’s Guide to Using UO Extreme Effectively: A Tutorial on How to Enhance Your Gaming Experience and PK Those RP l@m3rZ”.
